For over 200 years there has been a store on the site where Moulton’s Market resides. The original three story brick building was constructed in the early 1800’s and used until 1948 when fire swept through the building, burning it to the ground. It had housed the post office, apartments, a grocery store and a gas station. Since then, the new structure has been the location for Mann’s Variety Store, Moulton’s Market and The Village Green Market.
In 2002 Steve and Diane Yurish purchased the Village Green Market and relocated from New Jersey to manage the store. At that time the store was in need of a new sign and while the current name was “Village Green Market,” everyone still called it Moulton’s. For over 30 years Moulton’s Market had been the name and even new residents referred to the store as Moulton’s! Before buying his new sign, Steve did a little research, and sure enough, the Moulton’s name was available. In 2003, the name Village Green Market was changed back to Moulton’s Market and all the citizens in Amherst breathed a huge sigh of relief – the directions that they give to everyone who goes through our town would now be correct. Moulton’s Market has become an Amherst Institution.
Along with continuing to offer convenience store items, Steve and Diane expanded the offering to a deli reminiscent of those you find in New York City with delicious specialty sandwiches, fresh baked goods, homemade soups and hot meals ready to go. They continue to expand the market’s offering and work to meet the needs of the community’s busy lifestyle.

Love this place!: I drive throughout southern NH for work. I always
make a point of stopping here for lunch when I can. The best sandwiches
in the area, and the soup bar is awesome.

Awesome food and service: A true New England experience. Moulton's
has captured a day in the life of 1940 in this cute boutique market
and cafe. If you are looking for good food and friendly service,
then you HAVE to try them out.

:Moulton's is a wonderful country store
in the New England tradition - you can find anything you could possibly
need from great food to wine and everything in between. The food
is fantastic, fresh and homemade. The staff is very friendly and
helpful. The owners Steve and Diane and their children are delightful.

The Catering is Phenomenal: I used Moultons to cater my New Year's
Eve party and the food was outstanding! Everyone was raving! And,
now when you go to Moulton's you can get the same type of food to
go for dinner, which being a single, working mom- is KEY! And, now
that they have multiple tables, I love going for lunch break and
hanging with my friends. Good job, Steve and Diane!
